| What makes our practice
unique?
The practice of Dr. Rollin Daniel
is geared specifically towards meeting the needs of the rhinoplasty
patient. Dr. Daniel has performed more than 4,000 rhinoplasties
and is one of the few plastic surgeons in the United States
whose practice is exclusively rhinoplasty surgery.
He has also written extensively on nasal aesthetics and analysis,
the critical first steps in planning a rhinoplasty. From the
initial phone call to the final post-operative visit, he and
his staff aim to ensure that his patients have a focused and
caring experience.
Dr. Daniel’s goal is
to give his patient the nose they desire, rather than impose
his own vision. He listens carefully to what his patients
want and asks them to specify the three things about their
nose that bother them the most. This becomes the foundation
for each patient’s operative plan, which Dr. Daniel
uses to create an individualized, natural result. Since Dr.
Daniel works with his patients to achieve their goals, patients
tend to have a high satisfaction rate and a low rate of revision.
Patient comfort is a top priority
for Dr. Daniel. He does not pack the nose post-operatively,
ensuring that patients are able to breathe right away following
their procedure. In addition, he performs all procedures in
an accredited, outpatient surgery center with M.D. anesthesiologists
and uses only general anesthesia. Also unique, Dr. Daniel
can perform primary rhinoplasties in a closed, open, or closed/open
technique, depending upon the patient’s nasal problem.
His team of professional and skilled staff members provide
caring and efficient support throughout the patient’s
treatment process.
Dr. Rollin Daniel is unique
among major rhinoplasty surgeons in his combination of surgical
experience, innovation, and recognition as an international
authority. He has performed more than 4,000 rhinoplasties
during his career and is unique in his near exclusive focus
on the rhinoplasty patient. He has published a total of six
textbooks (two rhinoplasty texts, two texts on endoscopic
facial surgery, and one on aesthetic plastic surgery), written
more than 56 chapters in numerous textbooks of plastic surgery,
and published upwards of 225 journal articles with 40-plus
on rhinoplasty techniques. In addition to his
clinical work and writing, Dr. Daniel lectures extensively.
He has given more than 1,000 presentations to colleagues,
with at over 200 of those focused specifically on rhinoplasty
surgery. He is also listed in Best Doctors of America for
his surgical expertise in rhinoplasty surgery.
A few of Dr. Daniel’s major
contributions include the first lecture on Open Rhinoplasty
to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (1982), an in-depth
analysis of tip aesthetics and open tip suture techniques
as well as rib grafts in secondary rhinoplasty (1993), and
recently, a two-hour presentation on “Reduction Rhinoplasty
– How to Achieve the Smaller, Cuter Noses Patients Want”
at the 2003 meeting of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Dr. Daniel is also the editor of “Aesthetic Surgery:
Rhinoplasty” (1992), a multi-authored text by both plastic
and facial plastic surgeons. He followed up on this work by
publishing his own techniques in “Rhinoplasty: An Atlas
of Surgical Techniques” (2002), the first rhinoplasty
text to include DVD's of actual surgical operations. Dr. Daniel
continues to be a leader in the evolution of rhinoplasty techniques,
both as a surgeon and as a teacher.
